Job summary

City of Cleveland is seeking an Airport Safety Management Systems Technician to plan, inspect, and supervise safety initiatives across a municipal department. The role involves coordinating with multiple city agencies, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate has a degree in business or public administration and at least two years of program administration experience, with proficiency in MS Office and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration, Social Sciences, or closely related field preferred; two years in program administration required.
• Must be able to lift 30 pounds and possess a valid State driver's license.
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
• Availability for on-call support and occasional after-hours work for maintenance.
• Experience in safety, risk management, airport operations or related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensures compliance with OSHA/PERRP, FAR Part 139 and other rules and regulations.
• Conducts safety inspections and investigations; documents root causes and actions.
• Performs routine inspections of life safety equipment and maintains records.
• Supports projects with site inspections and coordination with project managers.
• Assists in SMS program policy promotion and procedural updates.
