Job summary

Des Moines Airport Authority is seeking a Safety Program Manager to lead the Airport's SMS initiatives, oversee OSHA compliance, and coordinate safety training for employees, tenants, and passengers. Qualifications

• Knowledge of Safety Management Systems (SMS) and OSHA regulations.
• Familiarity with FAA advisory circulars, FAR Parts 77, 139, and TSA/1542 requirements.
• Ability to analyze data and disseminate safety information effectively.
• Experience developing and implementing safety SOPs and training programs.
• Strong communication and leadership to manage safety committees and staff.

Responsibilities

• Develops and manages the Airport's SMS program.
• Monitors, analyzes, and disseminates safety data.
• Promotes SMS and OSHA compliance across the Airport.
• Oversees OSHA training, records, and assignments.
• Ensures regulatory compliance with SMS requirements and safety rules.
• Coordinates safety inspections and incident documentation.
• Responds to emergencies and manages NOTAMs when hazards exist.
