Job summary

Lowes Foods, LLC is seeking a Smokehouse department team member to provide friendly guest service and engage guests with live demos and storytelling. You will help with prep, stocking, and basic meat-cutting tasks while upholding sanitation, safety, and brand standards.

The role requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work with a team, and communicate effectively. Prior meat-cutting experience and culinary knowledge are preferred. This is a hands-on, in-store position in the Smokehouse area.

• Previous meat cutting/trimming experience.
• Culinary knowledge and/or background preferred.
• Ability to read and understand information and directions.
• Knowledge of deli and meat department operations.
• Demonstrated ability to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements.
• Effective communication, guest service, and selling skills.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to bend, kneel and stand for extended periods.
• Ability to take direction from supervision.
• Ability to work well with computers.

Responsibilities

• Provides fun, friendly and engaging service.
• Actively engage guests through Smokehouse samples and story-telling.
• Perform duties described in the Pit Master performance guide.
• Operate the department per merchandising and operating standards.
• Ensure product quality meets Lowes Foods standards.
• Maintain sanitation and safety throughout the department.
• Perform product preparation, receiving, ordering, stocking and guest service as needed.
• Maintain HACCP product information log sheets as needed.
• Perform light meat cutting duties as needed.
• All other duties as assigned by management.
• Perform PA announcements.
