Job summary

Lowes Foods is seeking team members for the Smokehouse department to provide friendly guest service and engaging demonstrations. You will assist with meat preparation, cutting, stocking, and ensuring quality and safety standards are met.

The role involves story-selling to guests, operating under merchandising standards, and supporting a positive guest experience in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Friendly, energetic and outgoing personality.
• Able to engage guests and have fun with guests.
• Willingness to perform in front of a large crowd.
• Able to lift 25 lbs consistently and 50 lbs occasionally.
• Previous meat cutting/trimming experience.
• Culinary knowledge/background preferred.
• Able to read and follow information/directions.
• Knowledge of deli and meat department operations.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

• Provides fun, friendly and engaging service
• Actively engage guests through freshly prepared Smokehouse samples and story-selling
• Perform activities outlined in the Pit Master character performance description
• Operate the department according to strict merchandising and operational standards
• Ensure the quality of product for sale meets Lowes Foods standards
• Maintain sanitation and safety throughout the department according to Lowes Foods standards
• Perform product preparation, receiving, ordering, stocking and guest service as necessary to achieve standards
• Maintain HACCP required product information log sheets as necessary
• Perform light meat cutting duties as needed
• Perform all other duties as assigned by management
• Perform PA announcements

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Ability to bend, kneel and stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to effectively communicate with, and take direction from supervision
