Job summary

Tecolote is seeking a Senior SME Acquisition Management Support to advise the Chief Engineer and SPD, translating leadership vision into actionable plans for SSC SYD 84/MT programs at LA AFB, CA. The role requires deep technical and acquisition expertise and the ability to guide major milestones with a multidisciplinary DoD team.

You will lead architecture development and ensure alignment of requirements to program execution, while working within a hybrid, full-time environment.

Qualifications

• 15+ years experience in Systems Engineering and Acquisition Management in government or DoD-related environments.
• Strong ability to analyze data, build models, interpret results, and brief senior leadership.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work independently or in teams on high-visibility tasks.
• Demonstrated knowledge of systems engineering practices and acquisition management for Major Defense Acquisition Programs.

Responsibilities

• Align requirements to execution for the CE and SPD leadership.
• Collaborate with DoD technical workforce and defense contractors through major milestones (CDRs, Readiness Reviews).
• Evaluate and oversee development of acquisition/engineering documents (TEMP, SEP, PPP, LCMP, ICDs).
• Support development and maintenance of Program Interface Control Documents and lead architecture development.

SME Acquisition Management Support to Chief Engineer

The SME Acquisition Management Support serves as a pivotal senior advisor to the SPD and Chief Engineer, applying deep technical and acquisition expertise to ensure the successful execution of the Division's portfolio. You will drive the strategic alignment of high-level requirements to program execution by translating leadership's vision into actionable plans in support of the Space Systems Command (SSC) SYD 84/MT programs at LA AFB, CA.

Responsibilities

• In this role, you will support the Chief Engineer (CE) in the alignment of requirements to execution for the Resilient MW/MT architecture.
• You will interact with a multidisciplinary DoD technical workforce and defense hardware contractors to guide programs through major milestones like Critical Design Reviews and Readiness Reviews.
• You will evaluate and oversee the development of essential acquisition and engineering support documents (i.e., TEMP, SEP, PPP, and LCMP, ICDs).
• Responsibilities and tasks will also include:
  • Supporting the development and maintenance of Program Interface Control Documents.
  • Supporting program elements to execute major milestones, Design Reviews, and Readiness Reviews.
  • Leading R MW/MT Architecture development and execution.

Skills Required

• At least 15 equivalent years of experience performing Systems Engineering and Acquisition Management activities in the government (military and/or civil servant), federally funded research and development center, or profit / non-profit government support / development Contractor arena.
• Knowledge of various quantitative techniques used to analyze data, develop models, interpret results, and brief senior-level DoD leadership.
• Must be able to work independently, as well as with a team, on time-sensitive high-visibility tasks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
• Demonstrated knowledge of systems engineering practices and acquisition management regulations associated with Major Defense Acquisition Programs.
• Active DoD TS/SCI Clearance (required).

Education

• Master’s degree (MA/MS) in Engineering, Mathematics, Technology, Operations Research, or related field is required.
• Salary Range: $125,000 - $140,000 DOE

Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in math, engineering, or the sciences.
