Job summary

Tecolote Research, Inc. seeks a Mid/Senior-Level Acquisition and Program Management Support Analyst to deliver expert acquisition support to Senior Program Managers in Capability Development programs.

Based in the SSC Space Systems Command context, the role covers pre- and post-contract award activities and strategic communication product development. Responsibilities include formulating acquisition products, preparing for key stakeholder reviews, and ensuring compliance with DoD regulations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required in math, engineering, business, or the sciences.
  • 7+ years of experience in Acquisition Management and Planning in DoD or related settings.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and strong problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert acquisition support to Senior Program Managers across the lifecycle.
  • Advise on pre- and post-contract award activities and develop strategic communication products.
  • Evaluate procurement documentation for policy compliance and develop acquisition strategies.
  • Prepare PMRs, PSRs, and respond to Congressional inquiries as needed.
  • Develop and maintain monthly, quarterly, and yearly reporting materials.

Job description

The Mid/Senior-Level Acquisition and Program Management Support Analyst provides direct, expert acquisition support to Senior Program Managers (SPMs) within the Capability Development programs across their entire lifecycle. Operating in support of the Space Systems Command (SSC) SYD 89/SY LA AFB, CA, you will advise and manage pre- and post-contract award execution activities and develop key strategic communication products.

  • In this role, you will play a critical role in assisting the formulation of acquisition products and preparing for key stakeholder reviews to including PMRs, PSRs, and Congressional inquiries.
  • You will evaluate program solicitation documentation, such as acquisition strategy, systems engineering plan, IMP, IMS, and CDRLs for adherence to policy/guidance
  • You will recommend program acquisition strategies and perform market research
  • You will interact with a multidisciplinary DoD technical workforce and defense hardware contractors in the accomplishment of your duties
  • You will assist in the oversight of recurring reporting requirements to ensure full contractor compliance
  • Responsibilities and tasks will also include:
    • Providing product development and execution support for pre- and post-contract award
    • Assisting in the development of PMR, QPR, Staffer Day, and POM support materials
    • Developing and maintaining program strategic communication products
    • Maintaining required monthly, quarterly, and yearly reporting requirements
Skills Required
  • At least 7+ equivalent years of experience performing Acquisition Management and Planning activities in the government (military and/or civil servant), federally funded research and development center, or profit / non-profit government support / development Contractor arena
  • Must be able to work independently, as well as with a team, on time-sensitive high-visibility tasks
  • Knowledge of DoD budgetary principles and procedures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities
  • Demonstrated knowledge of acquisition management regulations, practices, policies, and procedures associated with Major Defense Acquisition Programs
  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in math, engineering, business, or the sciences required

Salary Range: $75,000 - $95,000/Year, DOE
