Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a Special Appeals / Smartdata Accountant in the Finance Department at 701 North Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA 19123. The position is full-time, 40 hours per week, with a salary range of $56,105 to $62,399 depending on education and experience, exempt status.

You will oversee all phases of the Special Appeals distribution and SmartData administration, maintain post-closing trials, reconcile ledgers, and generate weekly and monthly reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or degree candidate.
• Minimum of two years of general accounting experience.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel.
• Strong time management, analytical, communication and interpersonal skills.
• PA Act 153 mandated reporter training completed.
• PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check, and FBI Criminal Record Check.
• Support the Salvation Army mission.

Responsibilities

• Distribute mail appeal and contributions to proper destination as directed.
• Maintain the Special Appeals fund through post-closing trial balance and bank reconciliation.
• Review monthly financial reports in Serenic for accuracy and timeliness.
• Serve as Smart Data administrator for the division.
• Manage issuing of corporate credit cards.
• Provide Smart Data training and support to all credit card holders in the division.
• Review and approve SmartData transactions.
• Run weekly and monthly reports on credit card and cash activity.
• Process reimbursement to individuals and ensuring proper accounting and cash activity between the division and THQ.
• Act as Division contract administrator for Verizon contract.
• Perform all related duties as assigned.
