Job summary

Vanasse Hangen Brustlin Inc. (VHB) is seeking a Transportation Systems/Technology Leader in the Mid- Atlantic region, based in Virginia or DC with a hybrid work model.

The role focuses on planning, design, and construction support of cutting-edge ITS infrastructure, power and communications systems that transform how communities move. You will lead a team, drive innovation, and oversee major ITS/ATMS projects, with responsibilities across planning, design, and operations, while collaborating

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Electrical, or Systems Engineering.
• 11+ years in ITS/ATMS market and managing teams.
• PE license required.
• Willingness to travel.
• Experience developing strategic framework for sustainable transportation technology.

Responsibilities

• Provide project oversight on ITS/ATMS/Technology projects.
• Develop design plans and specifications for ITS/ATMS and communications equipment.
• Oversee Systems Engineering documents following FHWA processes.
• Plan and develop master planning and policy documents for ITS/ATMS.
• Oversee staff completing engineering field work and validations.
• Write technical reports and memoranda.
• Update specifications for ITS/ATMS hardware and software.
• Provide technical guidance across planning, design, implementation, and operations.
• Assist marketing in promoting Transportation Technology in local markets and represent VHB at events.
• Serve as Project Manager on major pursuits with RM/MD input.
