Job summary

NRG Energy, Inc. is seeking a Smart Home Sales Technician to meet customers in homes, retail locations and events, and to provide personalized smart home recommendations that fit their needs.

You will drive opportunities from consultations to installations, while delivering exceptional customer service and expertise in smart home technologies. The role involves hands-on installation, servicing and ongoing support, with a structured four‑day workweek and weekend coverage to support sales

Qualifications

• Must have strong communication and customer service skills.
• Sales mindset with the ability to build trust and close the sale.
• Comfort learning and using smart home technology.
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
• Ability to pass post-offer background and licensing requirements as applicable by law.

Responsibilities

• Meet customers in homes, retail locations and events.
• Recommend personalized smart home, security and automation solutions.
• Generate leads, follow up with prospects and close sales.
• Install, service and troubleshoot Vivint smart home equipment.
• Educate customers on how to use their system.
• Represent Vivint professionally in the field, in retail environments and in communities we serve.
