The Smart Campus department within Auxiliary Services is seeking to hire a part-time student position to provide leadership and advanced support within the technologically-oriented Smart Campus initiatives. The Smart Campus Student Technologist Lead will employ advanced technological knowledge to provide support, implement, and direct the use of technology on the University of Kentucky’s campus. Smart Campus Student Technologists are expected to uphold a high standard of customer service, provide dynamic solutions to technological problems, and provide mentoring support to other Smart Campus Technologists to maintain high standards of customer service and competence. Duties include but are not limited to supporting service incidents and requests; performing on-site repair, maintenance, system improvement, and testing of hardware and software; supporting UK’s Smart Campus initiatives, Bowmans Friends, UK Invests, Enterprise Digital Signage, and iPad support, distribution, and configuration; Cornerstone meeting room technology; hold recurring and collaborative meetings with Smart Campus Technologists; train new and existing technologists; delegate tasks to technologists and ensure completion.
Applicants for this position need to be able to work independently while maintaining a collaborative spirit with team members and a drive to provide respectful customer-oriented assistance. Successful candidates will possess self-motivation, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work with diverse clients. Existing knowledge of all areas listed above is not required to apply.
