Job summary

Kelso Building Services is seeking a Building Automation Solutions Consultant to expand our commercial and institutional facilities footprint. You will identify client challenges, tailor automation and controls proposals, and build long-term relationships with stakeholders.

The role blends technical understanding with consultative selling, coordinating with customers and internal project teams to deliver measurable business outcomes, optimize building performance, and support revenue growth

Qualifications

• Five or more years of sales experience within building automation, controls, HVAC, energy services, facility technologies, or a related market.
• Demonstrated success generating new business and exceeding sales goals.
• Experience leading consultative sales conversations and solution-based engagements.
• Strong presentation, communication, and customer relationship skills.
• Ability to navigate opportunities involving multiple decision-makers and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Identify and pursue new revenue opportunities across assigned accounts and target markets.
• Build strategic relationships with facility directors, building owners, engineers, contractors, and operations leaders.
• Develop territory plans that support sustained sales growth.
• Participate in industry associations, networking events, and prospecting efforts to expand market awareness.
• Building automation and control systems, HVAC controls modernization projects, energy optimization programs, remote monitoring and service technologies, fault detection and diagnostics platforms, integrated smart building applications, building analytics and reporting tools, connected facility technologies, mechanical and electrical service offerings.
• Conduct discovery meetings to understand facility goals and operational challenges; perform site visits and building assessments; create proposals, scopes of work, and solution recommendations; present operational, financial, and energy-related benefits to stakeholders; guide contract discussions and support project transitions to delivery teams; maintain opportunity tracking, forecasting, and activity management within Salesforce.
