Job summary

Evapco in Taneytown, MD, seeks a Small Parts Machine Operator for the day shift to operate precision machines for metal and PVC work.

You will perform daily operator preventive maintenance, set up tooling, document production and quality records, and help ensure safety and quality.

The role requires reading engineering prints, following MAPs/CRN/B31.5/ASME guidelines, and contributing to Lean and 5S initiatives while maintaining a clean, organized workspace.

Qualifications

• Basic shop math: add/subtract/divide/multiply with whole numbers and fractions.
• Read a tape measure to within 1/16”.
• Able to use all hand tools proficiently.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to read and understand engineering prints.
• Able to troubleshoot and solve process issues.

Responsibilities

Job Description:

Operate various precision machines for metal and PVC work

• Perform daily operator preventive maintenance on the machine.
• Setup and change tooling as required.
• Proficiently complete all production and quality documentation, CRN, ASME, etc.
• Maintain acceptable production rates within the skill level, by meeting or exceeding efficiency goals.
• Perform quality checks to ensure materials, parts and workmanship are compliant with engineering requirements and production expectations
• Make sure that all pipe is deburred and edge treatment applied if necessary (ZRC)
• Contribute to Lean and 5s Implemented in your areas.
• Must be a self-starter that can work without supervision.
• Ensures adherence to company policies and work rules, as well as ensuring a safe work environment is maintained
• Maintain a cheerful and positive attitude
• Strive to continually improve quality, safety, organization, cleanliness and productivity within your department.
• Able to understand and follow all MAP’s, PAP’s, CRN, B31.5, ASME, TMI’s, TPI’s, and SOP’s that pertain to the product
• Proficiently complete all documents pertaining to the process
• Safe operation of all overhead lifting cranes and jib booms ( if required )
• Assist in other areas of the shop when required
• Maintain a safe and clean work area

Job Qualifications:

Physical Requirements

Work in a Manufacturing environment

• Continuous standing, squatting, bending, pulling, and lifting throughout the workday
• Lift/Carry up to 50 lbs.
• Wear PPE when required – Manufacturing Areas
• Shift work, days, Monday through Friday and some weekends.
