Job summary

Evapco in Taneytown, MD is seeking a Sheet Metal Operator for the night shift (4pm–2:30am). You will operate basic sheet metal machines to cut, bend, and sort parts, read production orders, and review shop drawings to support quality, safety, and productivity in a manufacturing setting.

A valid driver’s license is required; you should read shop orders, perform basic math, and show willingness to learn and participate in safety and productivity improvements.

Qualifications

• Basic sheet metal operations: cutting, bending, sorting of parts.
• Willingness to learn and participate in problem solving to improve quality, safety, and productivity.
• Must read Production Orders and shop drawings accurately.
• Must have a valid driver's license and basic shop math skills.
• Proficient with tape measure and precision measurements (within 1/32”).
• Adheres to safety, 5-S, and company policies; maintains a safe work environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate basic sheet metal machinery to cut, bend, and sort parts.
• Review production orders and shop drawings to ensure correct parts and specs.

Job Title: Sheet Metal Operator

Shift: Night Shift, 4pm-2:30am

Job Qualifications

• Basic Sheet Metal machine operations; cutting, breaking, and sorting of parts
• Participate in team and shop business problem solving activities that include quality, safety, scrap reduction, and process improvements
• Meet or exceed annual safety, quality, 5-S, and productivity targets
• Attend training courses as directed by management
• May perform other duties, as assigned
• Willingness to learn
• Ensures adherence to company policies and work rules, as well as insuring a safe work environment is maintained
• Maintain a cheerful and positive attitude
• Strive to continually improve quality, safety, 5-S, and productivity within your areas of responsibility
• Understanding and proper use of tape measure within 1/32”
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Basic shop math (i.e. add/subtract/divide/multiply, whole numbers and fractions)
• Must be able to read Production Orders & understand shop drawings
• Familiar with common hand and power tools

Physical Requirements

• Manufacturing and outdoor environments
• Continuous standing, sitting, squatting, bending, pulling, and lifting throughout the workday
• Lifting of 50 lbs or more with assistance; two-person lift or mechanical
• Wear PPE when required
• 10-hour shifts, Monday-Thursday
