EVAPCO, Inc. in Maryland seeks a production operator to run precision machines for metal and PVC work, perform preventive maintenance, and adjust tooling. You will document production and quality data and uphold safety standards in a clean, efficient environment.

The role requires basic math, reading tape measures, and understanding engineering prints. Strong communication and the ability to work with minimal supervision are essential.

Qualifications

• Basic shop math, including fractions.
• Ability to read a tape measure to 1/16".
• Proficient with all hand tools.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Able to read and understand engineering prints.

Responsibilities

• Operate precision machines for metal and PVC work.
• Perform daily operator preventive maintenance on the machine.
• Set up and change tooling as required.
• Complete production and quality documentation (CRN, ASME, etc.).
• Maintain production rates and meet efficiency goals.
• Perform quality checks to ensure materials and workmanship meet requirements.
• Ensure safe operation and maintain a clean, organized area.
• Follow MAPs, PAPs, CRN, B31.5, ASME, TMI/TPI and SOPs.
• Possibly operate cranes and assist in other areas as needed.

Operate various precision machines for metal and PVC work

• Perform daily operator preventive maintenance on the machine.
• Setup and change tooling as required.
• Proficiently complete all production and quality documentation, CRN, ASME, etc.
• Maintain acceptable production rates within the skill level, by meeting or exceeding efficiency goals.
• Perform quality checks to ensure materials, parts and workmanship are compliant with engineering requirements and production expectations
• Make sure that all pipe is deburred and edge treatment applied if necessary (ZRC)
• Contribute to Lean and 5s Implemented in your areas.
• Must be a self-starter that can work without supervision.
• Ensures adherence to company policies and work rules, as well as ensuring a safe work environment is maintained
• Maintain a cheerful and positive attitude
• Strive to continually improve quality, safety, organization, cleanliness and productivity within your department.
• Able to understand and follow all MAP’s, PAP’s, CRN, B31.5, ASME, TMI’s, TPI’s, and SOP’s that pertain to the product
• Proficiently complete all documents pertaining to the process
• Safe operation of all overhead lifting cranes and jib booms ( if required )
• Assist in other areas of the shop when required
• Maintain a safe and clean work area

Job Qualifications

• Good communication skills, both written and verbal
• Able to read and understand all engineering prints related to the process
• Able to trouble shoot and solve problems related to the process

Physical Requirements

Work in a Manufacturing environment

• Continuous standing, squatting, bending, pulling, and lifting throughout the workday
• Lift/Carry up to 50 lbs.
• Wear PPE when required – Manufacturing Areas
• Shift work, days, Monday through Friday and some weekends.
