Job summary

Ace Hardware in Prescott Valley, AZ is seeking a Garden Place Small Engine Mechanic to deliver excellent customer service while handling Stihl equipment repairs, sharpening, and tool servicing in a timely, professional manner. The role requires maintaining a safe, organized shop and communicating with the manager about safety and customer service issues.

You will also manage paperwork, assist with warranty submissions, and perform cashiering duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be or get Stihl certified.
• Knowledge of Stihl repairs, chain sharpening and tool sharpening.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the business.
• Able to tactfully and pleasantly deal with customers.

Responsibilities

Position Summary

The primary responsibility of the Garden Place Small Engine Mechanic is to provide

excellent customer service, to process Stihl equipment repairs, chain

sharpening, and tool sharpening in a timely and professional manner.

Major Responsibilities Include:

• Ensure customers are receiving the best customer service.
• Maintain a safe, organized and clean shop.
• Report directly to the manager about any safety concerns, customer service issues and personnel
• issues.
• Responsible for getting repairs done in a professional, efficient
• and timely manner.
• Responsible for letting a manager know if unable to complete
• workload or if in need of additional help.
• Responsible for completing and following up on all necessary
• paperwork.
• Ensure all Stihl paperwork for each tool sold is completed and
• on-line warranty is submitted.
• Contact customers about machines or any issues
• Keep up with current Stihl training and new products.
• Prepare for upcoming seasons and order Stihl equipment accordingly.
• Make sure orders are processed, front end is clean, parts
• cabinets are clean organized and stocked.
• Work with inventory coordinator to ensure everything is counted correctly, which entails keeping
• everything organized and knowing where all items are located or exactly where
• to find them to make the counting process efficient.
• Cashiering Duties
