Job summary

Ace Hardware in Charlestown, IN is seeking a Service Technician to diagnose and repair STIHL handheld equipment and push mowers. You will disassemble, repair, reassemble components, and sharpen blades.

POSITION SUMMARY

• Diagnose problems and determine what repairs are needed on STIHL handheld equipment and push mowers.
• Disassembly, repair, and reassembly of components and machines.
• Performs all service tasks including sharpening mower blades and saw chain.
• Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion.
• Brings to the attention of the Store Manager any shop tools or equipment that is not in a serviceable condition or is unsafe to use.
• Provide the best possible experience for Every Customer, Every Time by being helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Working knowledge and experience with small engines.
• Skilled at providing prompt, friendly and attentive customer service.
• Proven track record of being a team player.
• A continuous pattern of regular and prompt attendance is required.

Physical Requirements

The minimum physical requirements for this position include:

• Ability to stand for an extended period of time, walk, reach, and bend to perform job duties.
• Move and handle merchandise up to 40 pounds, and fixtures throughout the store, which entails lifting and perform all functions as set forth. Job responsibilities may change based on the needs of the business.
