Job description

Job Description:

Provides expert understanding and assistance to brokers, potential members, and existing members in the sale of Individual Plans and Products. Collaborates with Enrollment and Billing Departments throughout the sales and renewal processes to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Job Essentials

  1. Trains and assists brokers with the sale of Individual Plan and Small Employer products, including explaining plans, products, rates, and options.
  2. Helps and educates potential and existing members in selecting the most appropriate insurance plans, considering both Marketplace and off-marketplace options.
  3. Attends various sales events, interacting professionally with brokers, customers, and departmental colleagues.
  4. Manages a specific book of business while assisting colleagues' books as needed, maintaining professional, confidential communication in accordance with HIPAA and compliance guidelines.
  5. Stays informed on legislation and healthcare reform changes affecting the market, advising brokers and applicants accordingly.
  6. Inputs data and updates sales automation systems accurately and promptly.
  7. Maintains a monthly average phone audit score of 93.5%.
  8. Completes all testing administered by the department trainer.

  • Shift Details: Typically Monday-Friday business hours; may attend early or after-hours events and volunteer on weekends.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Two years of customer service experience
  • Two years of sales experience
  • Basic knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, and internet navigation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of health insurance and familiarity with Facets or similar eligibility systems
  • Experience in the health insurance industry
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong interpersonal, time management, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and in team environments
  • Strong customer service focus

Physical Requirements:

  • Interaction requiring communication
  • Operation of computers and office equipment
  • Visual ability to read monitors and documents
  • Prolonged sitting or standing for work on computers or phones

Location: SelectHealth - Murray, Utah

Work Hours: 40 hours/week, scheduled Monday-Friday, with potential early or after-hours events and optional weekend volunteering

Compensation: $18.38 - $26.65 hourly, dependent on experience
