Job summary

Seacoast Bank in Tampa seeks a Business Development Officer - Small Business to lead local growth in small business lending and maintain a strong community presence. The role serves as a resource for lending teams and focuses on building trusted relationships with clients and COIs across the market.

The candidate will understand credit facilities, tax returns, and financial statements to assess creditworthiness, while balancing client needs with risk management.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• College degree in a financial related discipline preferred.
• 6-8 years in business development and/or financial services experience required.
• Proficient in small business lending products with active NMLS registration preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• PC proficiency and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Establish a consistent business development strategy in the marketplace.
• Call planning, follow-up, and COI retention calls.
• Prospect new clients and COIs; outbound calling and networking events.
• Maintain knowledge of financial products and small business lending solutions.
• Develop and maintain broker relationships and internal partnerships.
• Navigate and negotiate complex credit requests and structure credit facilities.
