Job summary

Formlabs is seeking an SLS Print Process Intern to push the capabilities of our 3D printing platforms and analyze a multi-disciplinary set of factors affecting performance. The role emphasizes hands-on problem solving and collaboration across disciplines, with a portfolio strongly encouraged for applicants.

The internship runs Summer 2027 (May/June - August) on-site in Somerville, MA, with full-time commitment and daily exposure to cutting-edge materials and processes in a growing team.

Qualifications

• Portfolio strongly encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Push the capabilities of our SLS 3D printing platforms.
• Drive root cause analysis across mechanics, fluids, software, chemistry, optics, electronics, thermodynamics and customer behavior.
• Design efficient experiments to tease out underlying behavior in a complex system of variables.
• Tackle multi-disciplinary problems.
• Develop and commercialize solutions that improve customer print performance.
