Job summary

Adoration Health is seeking a Home Health Speech Language Pathologist to deliver patient-centered SLP services in Colonial Heights, VA. The role offers a PRN, flexible schedule with compensation paid per visit, and opportunities for growth within a supportive team.

Responsibilities include assessing communication disorders, delivering therapy, educating patients and families, and documenting progress in line with agency policy. Licensure and BLS/CPR are required.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Current, unrestricted state license to practice Speech Language Pathology.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) or CPR certification as required by state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients to determine speech or language therapy needs and plan treatment.
• Provide 1:1 therapy sessions and teach patients to improve speech sounds and communication.
• Educate families and caregivers on exercises and progress outside direct sessions.
• Document progress and compliance with agency policies in visit notes.
• Collaborate with healthcare team to support patient progress and safety.

Responsibilities

As a Home Health Speech Language Pathologist, You will:

• Communicate with patients to evaluate their levels of speech or language difficulty, determining the need for continued therapy services
• Teach patients how to make sounds and improve their voices
• Teach alternative communication methods, such as sign language, to patients with little or no speech capability
• Educate and guide healthcare team members, patients, and caregivers in specific aspects of therapeutic exercises to support continued progress outside of direct therapy sessions
• Document appropriate progress and clinical notes noting patient's response to therapy and submit visit documentation per Agency policy

Qualifications

• Minimum of Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology from a college or university with accredited Speech Language Pathology program
• A minimum of one (1) year’s work experience as a Speech Language Pathologist
• Current, unrestricted license as an Speech Language Pathologist by state in which practicing
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) or CPR certification in accordance state regulations
