Job summary

Adoration Health in Franklin, VA is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to join our Home Health team on a PRN basis. You will provide expert 1:1 therapy to patients at home, assess speech and language needs, and tailor treatment plans to improve communication and quality of life.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Minimum of 1 year’s work experience as a Speech Language Pathologist.
• Current, unrestricted license as a Speech Language Pathologist in the practicing state.
• Current BLS or CPR certification in accordance with state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with patients to evaluate their speech or language needs and determine therapy continuation.
• Provide 1:1 therapy to improve speech, language, voice, and swallowing where appropriate.
• Teach alternative communication methods, such as sign language, when needed.
• Educate and guide care teams and caregivers to support progress outside sessions.
• Document progress and complete required visit notes per policy.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with patients to evaluate their levels of speech or language difficulty, determining the need for continued therapy services
• Teach patients how to make sounds and improve their voices
• Teach alternative communication methods, such as sign language, to patients with little or no speech capability
• Educate and guide healthcare team members, patients, and caregivers in specific aspects of therapeutic exercises to support continued progress outside of direct therapy sessions
• Document appropriate progress and clinical notes noting patient's response to therapy and submit visit documentation per Agency policy

Qualifications

• Minimum of Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology from a college or university with accredited Speech Language Pathology program
• A minimum of one (1) year’s work experience as a Speech Language Pathologist
• Current, unrestricted license as an Speech Language Pathologist by state in which practicing
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) or CPR certification in accordance state regulations
