Job summary

Total Care Therapy is hiring a Speech-Language Pathologist in Dayton, OH. You will evaluate, diagnose, and treat communication, cognitive-linguistic, and swallowing disorders in older adults within assisted living and independent living communities. Build individualized plans to improve quality of life and independence.

You will work with an interdisciplinary team, document in EMR, and contribute to a supportive, therapist-owned culture with mentorship and opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• Current SLP license required.
• CCC-SLP certification preferred (or eligibility).
• CPR/BLS certification required.
• Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation.
• Experience in geriatrics, home health, assisted living, or skilled nursing preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate residents and develop individualized speech therapy plans of care.
• Assess and treat speech, language, voice, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders.
• Perform dysphagia evaluations and implement swallowing interventions.
• Reassess patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Complete timely and accurate documentation using the EMR.
• Educate residents, caregivers, and facility staff on communication strategies and swallowing precautions and home exercise programs.
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, dietitians, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.
• Maintain a productive clinical caseload while delivering compassionate, evidence-based therapy services.

Education

Current State Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) License

CCC-SLP (preferred)

CPR/BLS Certification
