Job summary

Birch Academy is seeking a collaborative and student-centered Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our Special Education team. This 10-month specialized school serves students with autism and developmental delays, focusing on functional communication and independence.

The SLP will work with a multidisciplinary team to evaluate, plan, and implement evidence-based services for high school students, ensuring progress toward academic and social goals in various environments.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Valid state SLP license and/or educational certification required.
• CCC-SLP preferred; CF candidates may be considered.
• Experience working with adolescents or neurodiverse learners preferred.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct speech and language evaluations and prepare reports.
• Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans.
• Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation.
• Support students' communication, social-pragmatic skills, and self-advocacy.
• Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and support staff across settings.
• Consult with staff and partner with families to support student progress.
