Job summary

JACK Entertainment in Ohio is seeking a VLT Technician to install, test and maintain electronic components, sub-systems and systems ensuring continuous operation of VLTs.

You will inspect equipment, perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot problems, and document work accurately while complying with gaming regulations and internal controls. The role requires strong English, flexibility in shifts, and teamwork with security and management.

Qualifications

  • Electronics degree or equivalent electronic experience is preferred.
  • Installation, maintenance and repair of electronic systems and equipment preferred.
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electronic/electrical equipment is desirable.
  • Proficient with tools of the trade including testing devices and instruments.
  • Should understand schematics and blueprints for repair of VLT machines.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and test assigned equipment, noting defective parts and corrections.
  • Perform adjustments and repairs to electronic and electro-mechanical equipment.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on VLT machines on floor or in shop.
  • Observe safety regulations and report hazards to supervisor.
  • Maintain compliance with policies, procedures and gaming regulations.
  • Provide accurate documentation for the VLT Performance department.

VLT Technician

Reporting to the VLT Performance Supervisor, the VLT Technician is responsible for installing, testing and maintaining electronic components, sub-systems and systems required for efficient and continuous conduction of business operations

Essential Functions
  • Inspect and test assigned equipment, noting all defective parts and making recommendations for correction
  • Perform required adjustments and repairs to electronic and electro-mechanical equipment as assigned. Perform preventative maintenance to VLT machines either on the floor, or in the VLT shop
  • Observe all safety regulations in the performance of assigned duties, and report any safety hazards to assigned supervisor
  • Ensure that you understand the policies and procedures, internal controls, and gaming regulations and are in complete compliance at all times
  • Provide 100% accuracy and accountability on all documentation that is required by the VLT Performance department
  • Uphold the integrity of vital information in and around the VLT Performance department
  • Provide prompt and courteous service when repairing or verifying transactions at machines
  • Performs tasks as requested by departmental management
  • Routinely strives to build and maintain rapport with customers making every effort to achieve customer satisfaction
  • Acts as a role model; always presents oneself as and encourages others to do the same
  • Coordinates with Racino management and security to detect and prevent attempts to cheat or damage gaming equipment and to identify and report floor irregularities

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Possess an upbeat and positive attitude
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule
  • Must be able to read/explain the pay table/glass on the different EGDs
  • Be able to perform all game recalls
  • Be able to troubleshoot and repair common/uncommon problems with EGDs
  • Know how to use Word and Excel
  • Experience with VLT player tracking systems
  • Know how to identify all components in the VLT machines
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Must be able to sit, stand or walk for long periods of time (4 hours).
  • Must be able to respond calmly and make rational decisions when handling employee conflicts.
  • Must be able to maneuver throughout all areas of the property and from floor to floor either by stairways (minimum of 20 steps) or escalator.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.; and, have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop and kneel.
  • Respond to visual and aural cues.
  • Must have the manual dexterity to operate a computer and other necessary office equipment.
  • Must be able to tolerate areas containing dust, loud noises and bright lights.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to simultaneously manage several projects, and not be frustrated by changing priorities and unforeseen obstacles to achieving objectives.
  • Ability to speak distinctly and persuasively.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
Education And Experience
  • Electronics degree or equivalent electronic experience is preferred
  • Installation, maintenance and repair of electronic systems and equipment preferred
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electronic/electrical technical equipment is desirable
  • Proficient in the use of tools of the trade including hand power and machine equipment testing devices and instruments, as applicable
  • Should understand schematic diagrams needed in the repair of VLT machines as well as mechanical blue prints
  • Knowledge of Racino rules, procedures and regulations pertaining to VLT operations a plus
Required Certification/License
  • Must be able to obtain an Ohio Lottery Commission license
