Job summary

JACK Entertainment is seeking a Slot Technician to inspect, test, and maintain electronic and electro-mechanical slot machines on the casino floor or in the slot shop. The role requires following safety rules, adhering to internal controls, and ensuring accurate documentation for the Slot Performance department.

The candidate should have an electronics background, be able to work independently, and handle multiple tasks while maintaining professional conduct and customer service standards.

Qualifications

  • Electronics degree or equivalent electronic experience preferred.
  • Installation, maintenance and repair of electronic systems and equipment preferred.
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electronic/electrical equipment desirable.
  • Proficient with hand tools and testing devices used in slot machine repair.
  • Able to read schematics and blueprints for repair of EGDs.
  • Familiarity with casino rules and slot operations is a plus.
  • Must read/write English and work flexible hours.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and test assigned equipment, noting defective parts and recommending corrections.
  • Perform adjustments and repairs to electronic and electro-mechanical equipment; conduct preventative maintenance on slot machines.
  • Follow safety regulations and report hazards to supervisor.
  • Maintain compliance with internal controls, policies, and gaming regulations.
  • Ensure 100% accuracy in all Slot Performance documentation.
  • Protect the integrity of information within the Slot Performance department.
  • Provide prompt service when repairing or verifying transactions at machines.
  • Perform tasks as directed by departmental management.
  • Build rapport with customers to achieve satisfaction.
  • Set a professional example and encourage others to do the same.

Job description

  • Perform required adjustments and repairs to electronic and electro-mechanical equipment as assigned. Perform preventative maintenance to slot machines either on the floor, or in the slot shop

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Must be able to sit, stand or walk for long periods of time (4 hours).
  • Must be able to respond calmly and make rational decisions when handling employee conflicts.
  • Must be able to maneuver throughout all areas of the property and from floor to floor either by stairways (minimum of 20 steps) or escalator.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.; and, have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop and kneel.
  • Respond to visual and aural cues.
  • Must have the manual dexterity to operate a computer and other necessary office equipment.
  • Must be able to tolerate areas containing dust, loud noises and bright lights.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to simultaneously manage several projects, and not be frustrated by changing priorities and unforeseen obstacles to achieving objectives.
  • Ability to speak distinctly and persuasively.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
Education & Experience
  • Electronics degree or equivalent electronic experience is preferred
  • Installation, maintenance and repair of electronic systems and equipment preferred
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electronic/electrical technical equipment is desirable
  • Proficient in the use of tools of the trade including hand power and machine equipment testing devices and instruments, as applicable
  • Should understand schematic diagrams needed in the repair of slot machines as well as mechanical blue prints
  • Knowledge of casino rules, procedures and regulations pertaining to slot operations a plus
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Possess an upbeat and positive attitude
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule
  • Must be able to read/explain the pay table/glass on the different EGDs
  • Be able to perform all game recalls
  • Be able to troubleshoot and repair common/uncommon problems with EGDs
  • Know how to use Word and Excel
  • Experience with slot player tracking systems
  • Know how to identify all components in the slot machines
  • Must be 21 years of age.
License Requirements
  • Ability to obtain a Gaming Occupational License within the State of Ohio
