Job summary

Sloopy's Diner on the Ohio State Campus in Columbus is hiring a Kitchen Team Member to join a fast, student-focused dining operation. The role involves prep, cooking, plating to specification on grill, fry, and prep stations, with a focus on speed, accuracy, and clean stations.

We offer part-time or full-time hours, pay $16.00–$25.00 per hour based on experience, meals on shift, and room to grow into lead or management roles as you prove yourself on campus.

Qualifications

• Kitchen experience preferred; training available for inexperienced candidates.
• Reliable and punctual with a consistent weekly schedule.
• Food handler certification is a plus.

Sloopy's Diner, an independently operated restaurant on the Ohio State campus, is hiring Kitchen Team Members. We run a fast, friendly line serving students, faculty, and campus visitors, and we need people who keep a station clean, keep tickets moving, and keep their cool when the rush hits.

What you'll do

• Prep, cook, and plate menu items to spec on the grill, fry, and prep stations
• Keep your station stocked, organized, and sanitized throughout the shift
• Follow food safety, temperature, and allergen procedures
• Help with dish, receiving, and closing duties as needed
• Communicate clearly with the line and front of house

What we're looking for

• Kitchen experience preferred; we'll train the right person with no experience
• Reliable, on time, and available for a consistent weekly schedule
• Able to stand for full shifts and lift up to 50 lbs
• Works well under pressure and takes direction
• Food handler certification a plus
