Job summary

PRATT in Rockwall, TX is seeking a Slitter Operator to manage the setup, operation, cleanup, and continuous improvement of the slitter line. You will ensure conformance to specifications, quality controls, and efficient production through accurate changeovers.

This full-time position is scheduled 3:30pm–11:30pm, Monday through Friday, with overtime as needed. Responsibilities include entering order data, setting speeds and gaps, inspecting finished boards for defects, coordinating with the wet

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Ability to read and follow instructions on factory masters.
• Ability to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy.
• Ability to apply concepts of high school math.

Responsibilities

• Set machine using order changes, scores, speed, stack height, sheet count, and outs.
• Verify accuracy of information in computer.
• Execute order changes.
• Cross check board with corrugator dry end lineup or scheduling display for proper board test, size, scores, depth, color, and coating.
• Visually inspect board quality for defects (cracks, oil, wrinkles, etc.).
• Perform soak tests as needed.
• Set up tear-tape machine and preprint as needed.
• Communicate adjustments to the wet end.
• Clear jams safely and assist with other problems.
• Submit maintenance work orders and help maintain equipment.
