Job summary

The Pratt Carlisle facility is hiring a Slitter operator to handle setup, operation, cleanup, and process improvements on the slitter line. You will read and set machine parameters, verify data, clear jams, and participate in maintenance while adhering to safety and housekeeping policies.

Prior corrugated industry experience and a high school diploma are preferred; lift truck license may be required. Starting wage is $19.80 per hour with shift differential, and Pratt offers comprehensive

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.
Prior work experience in the corrugated industry.
Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy.

Responsibilities

Enter information into computers to set machine for order changes, scores, speed, stack height, sheet count, and number of outs.
Verify accuracy of information in computer.
Execute order changes.
Cross check board being produced with the corrugator dry end lineup or order scheduling computer display.
Visually observe and physically check board for quality.
Set up tear-tape machine and preprint as needed.
Communicate messages to the wet end regarding adjustments.
Clear jams safely and assist in correcting problems.
Be proactive in equipment maintenance.
