Job summary

Pratt in Rockwall, TX is seeking a Slitter Operator to manage setup, operation, and cleanup of the slitter line. You will also propose improvements to operations and ensure quality and efficiency to meet production schedules.

The role requires following detailed machine settings, performing checks, and coordinating with the wet end and maintenance teams. Overtime may be required as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy.
• Ability to read and follow instructions on factory masters.

Responsibilities

• Enter information into computers to set machine for order changes, scores, speed, stack height, sheet count, and number of outs.
• Verify accuracy of information in computer.
• Execute order changes.
• Cross check board with corrugator dry end lineup or order scheduling display.
• Observe and check board for quality (scores, liner, coating, etc.).
• Perform soak tests as needed.
• Set slitter to minimize overruns/underruns.
• Set-up tear-tape machine and preprint as needed.
• Communicate adjustments to the wet end.
• Clear jams safely and assist with problems.
• Submit maintenance work orders and help maintain equipment.
