Pratt Industries, Inc. is seeking a Slitter Operator in Carlisle, PA to manage setup, operation, and cleanup of the slitter and to suggest improvements to operations.

Responsibilities include configuring machines, verifying data, executing order changes, inspecting products, and coordinating with wet/dry ends. The role requires a high school diploma or GED and prior corrugated industry experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read and follow factory masters/instructions.
• Aptitude for measuring, calculating percentages, volume and rate.

Responsibilities

• Enter information into computers to set machine for order changes, scores, speed, stack height, sheet count, and number of outs.
• Verify accuracy of information in computer.
• Execute order changes.
• Cross check board with corrugator dry end lineup or schedule display to ensure proper board test, size, scores, depth, color and coating.
• Visually inspect board quality for defects and perform soak tests as needed.
• Set slitter to prepare next run; set-up tear-tape machine and preprint as needed.
• Communicate adjustments to the wet end; clear jams safely.
• Submit maintenance work orders; assist in equipment maintenance.
• Adhere to production schedule and optimize schedule for cost/quality/service.
