Job summary

Pratt is seeking a Slitter operator in Carlisle, PA. You will be responsible for setup, operation, cleanup and recommending improvements to the process. This role requires accurate data entry, machine setup for order changes, quality checks, and adherence to production schedules. A high school diploma or GED and prior corrugated industry experience are expected; lift truck license may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Prior work experience in the corrugated industry.

Responsibilities

• Enter data into computer to set machine for order changes, scores, speed, stack height, sheet count, and outs.
• Verify accuracy of information in computer.
• Execute order changes.
• Cross check board with corrugator lineup to ensure proper board test, size, scores and coating.
• Visually inspect board quality for issues.
• Perform soak tests as needed.
• Set slitter to prepare next run.
• Set-up tear-tape machine and preprint as needed.
• Communicate adjustments to the wet end.
• Clear jams safely and assist in repairs.
• Submit maintenance work orders.
• Be proactive in equipment maintenance.
• Adhere to production schedule.
• Recommend schedule optimization.
• Report scheduling issues to Supervisor.
• Comply with company policies including safety and housekeeping.
