Job summary

Maria Parham Health in Henderson, NC seeks a Sleep Technician Trainee to support sleep studies under supervision. You will assist with diagnostic studies, data collection, and patient education while gaining hands-on experience in sleep technology.

This PRN, nonexempt role offers weekday and weekend shifts, with potential for progression to Registered Sleep Technologist as you pursue certification. Comprehensive benefits are provided to eligible staff.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited sleep technology program or graduated awaiting registry.
• BLS certification required within 3 months of hire.

Job Title: Sleep Technician Trainee

Job type: PRN, Nonexempt. Schedule: Weekday, Weekends, PRN minimum 1-2 days a week.

Responsibilities

• Assist with diagnostic sleep studies, therapeutic interventions, patient monitoring, data collection, documentation, equipment maintenance, and patient education under direct supervision of a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) and Clinical Director.
• Perform sleep technologist duties when an RPSGT is present.
• Work toward registry certification and transition to a Registered Sleep Technologist position.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Sleep technician trainees must be enrolled in an accredited educational program on sleep technology or have graduated and be awaiting registry.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association required within 3 months of hire.
