Job summary

Northside Hospital is seeking a sleep technologist to prepare adolescent, adult and geriatric patients for sleep disorders testing, monitor polysomnograms, and document per policy. The role covers full-night duties, documenting, scoring and report preparation.

The position requires one year of sleep study experience, BRPT RPSGT certification and BLS, with rotating weekends and 7AM–7PM shifts. Strong communication skills are essential for patient interactions and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • Must possess good written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated expertise in sleep disorders, sleep activity, abnormalities, movement arousals, and respirations.
  • One year experience in sleep study activity.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Must possess BRPT RPSGT certification.

Responsibilities

  • Arrives to work in a timely manner and reviews the nights duties and patients.
  • Reviews assigned patient charts, greets patients, completes paperwork and pre-test assessment.
  • Applies recording sensors, acclimatizes patient to CPAP if applicable, and performs pre-recording calibration.
  • Monitors the recording during the evening per protocol including documentation and interventions as needed.
  • Ends the recording per protocol, completes post-study documentation, removal of sensors and cleanup.
  • Scores polysomnograms and prepares report for dictation; assists in training, orientation and competency assessments.
