Job summary

Northside Hospital, an award-winning and state-of-the-art healthcare provider in Georgia, seeks a Sleep Technologist for night shifts to support adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. You will prepare patients and equipment for sleep testing, monitor polysomnograms, and document per policy to ensure high-quality care.

The role requires 1 year of sleep study experience, BLS certification, and BRPT RPSGT certification.

Qualifications

• Must have good written and oral communication skills.
• Demonstrated expertise in sleep disorders, sleep activity, abnormalities, movement arousals, and respirations.
• One year experience in sleep study activity.
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support Certification (BLS).
• Must possess current BRPT Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) certification

Responsibilities

• Arrives to work in a timely manner. Reviews the activity list for the nights duties and patients.
• Reviews assigned patient charts, greets patients, completes appropriate paperwork and pre-test assessment.
• Applies recording sensors, acclimatizes patient to CPAP if applicable, and performs pre-recording calibration.
• Monitors the recording during the evening per protocol including documentation and interventions as needed.
• Ends the recording per protocol, completes post-study documentation, removal of sensors and cleanup as needed.
• Scores polysomnograms as needed and prepares report for dictation. Assists in training, orientation and competency assessments as needed.
