Job summary

OneMain Financial Group is seeking a Skip Trace Specialist to locate customers and collateral using skip tracing techniques while complying with FDCPA and CFPB regulations. You will manage a repossession queue, coordinate with vendors, and handle paperwork for delinquencies from assigned accounts, ensuring timely resolution and risk mitigation.

The role is onsite in West Valley City, UT with hourly pay and bonus potential, following a Monday–Friday schedule with occasional Saturday rotation.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 1+ years of skip tracing experience in DRN, RDN, idiCORE, Carfax, etc.
• 1+ years of collections or call center experience.
• Strong understanding of skip tracing and systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform and complete skip tracing activities on all assigned accounts to prevent charge-offs.
• Make inbound/outbound calls to discuss delinquency resolution.
• Maintain and establish new repossession and transport vendor relationships.
• Manage accounts from repossession assignment to transportation of vehicles to auction.
• Complete required paperwork including sending Federal and State regulation letters.

Job description

As a Skip Trace Specialist, you will locate customers and collateral using various investigative (skip tracing) techniques. All duties and tasks must be completed by adhering to FDCPA and CFPB regulations. Manages a reposmission queue of approximately 70-100 accounts maintaining charge offs at an acceptable rate as determined by management. In the Role Perform and complete skip tracing activities on all assigned accounts to prevent the charge off and company loan loss. This includes inbound/outbound calls to discuss delinquency resolution. Maintain and establish new repossession and transport vendor relationships. Manage all accounts that have been assigned to them from the repossession assignment to the transportation of the vehicle to the auction. Completes required applicable paperwork including sending all required Federal and State regulation letters.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED required
• At least 1 year of skip tracing experience in DRN, RDN, idiCORE, Carfax, etc.
• 1+ years of collections or call center experience
• Strong understanding of skip tracing and systems
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word.

Preferred

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Excellent phone and negotiation skills.
• Collateral lending experience.

Location: Onsite in West Valley City, UT

Pay: Hourly + bonus potential

Schedule: Monday through Friday from 9:00am-6:00pm with a rotating Saturday shift every 6 weeks.
