Job summary

STARC of Louisiana, Inc. is seeking a Skills Trainer i to supervise and provide day habilitation, pre-vocational, vocational and work skills training for adults in day programs.

You will ensure safety, oversee equipment use, and apply behavior management techniques per individual service plans. Responsibilities include reporting incidents to the Adult Program Coordinator/QIDP, potential client transportation, and working across STARC facilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• One year of prior work experience with individuals with intellectual, developmental and/or other disABILITIES preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and provide day habilitation, pre-vocational, vocational and work skills training for clients.
• Ensure safety and well-being of clients and proper operation of equipment and supplies.
• Effectively utilize behavior management techniques per individual service plans and report incidents to the Adult Program Coordinator/QIDP.
• May transport clients and work across STARC facilities.
