ND Health and Human Services seeks a Skills Trainer (Behavioral Modification Specialist) in the Minot area to work with our Youth and Family Team. You will travel to individuals' homes and communities, teaching daily living, household, communication, and emotion regulation skills, to help clients live independently.
You will join an integrated team to support each person’s plan and empower success in home and community settings, using role-modeling and client-centered approaches.
As a Skills Trainer, you will assist individuals where they live to build skills so they can live a quality, independent life.
Every day, you will travel to individuals' homes and communities. There you will teach daily living skills and household skills, communication and emotion regulation skills, budgeting skills, as well as health, safety, and hygiene skills. You will be part of an integrated, interdisciplinary team focused on providing the best support plan possible for each individual.
To thrive in this position, you should enjoy teaching and role-modeling, be passionate about empowering others, and prefer working with individuals in their home and natural environments.
This position requires a valid driver's license and successful completion of the assigned defensive driving course during new-hire orientation.
This position provides essential client services face to face and therefore the person in this position needs to be able to travel to meet clients at their location.
