Job summary

ND Health and Human Services seeks a Skills Trainer (Behavioral Modification Specialist) in the Minot area to work with our Youth and Family Team. You will travel to individuals' homes and communities, teaching daily living, household, communication, and emotion regulation skills, to help clients live independently.

You will join an integrated team to support each person’s plan and empower success in home and community settings, using role-modeling and client-centered approaches.

Qualifications

• Master's degree requirement OR bachelor's with two years of relevant supervised experience.
• Valid driver's license and completion of the assigned defensive driving course during new-hire orientation.
• ND Medicaid may approve related degrees at its discretion.

Responsibilities

• Travel to individuals' homes and communities to teach daily living, household, communication and emotion regulation skills.
• Be part of an integrated, interdisciplinary team focused on providing the best support plan for each individual.
• Thrive in role-modeling, empower others and work in home and natural environments.

Education

Master's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, education, child development and family science, human services, marriage and family therapy, applied behavioral analysis, speech pathology, therapeutic recreation, occupational therapy, behavioral health, or communication disorders.

Bachelor's degree in one of the above fields and two years of work experience in the respective discipline
