Job summary

DABS, Inc. in Martinez, California is seeking a Skills Instructor to work directly with adults with developmental disabilities, helping them build essential daily living and employment skills in community settings.

You will lead person-centered activities, document progress, coordinate with a team, and support independence while promoting dignity and inclusion. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required; training and licensing support available.

Qualifications

• Caring and committed to helping others live with dignity and independence.
• Reliable transportation to and from work with valid driver's license.
• Willingness to undergo state and federal fingerprint background check.
• CPR certification and a recent TB test (training available if needed).
• Experience with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centered instruction through planned community activities.
• Support individuals in accessing community resources and planning engaging activities.
• Take individuals on community outings for appointments, errands, or leisure.
• Track and document progress with accurate case notes.
• Redirect challenging behaviors and facilitate positive resolutions.
• Collaborate with a team of professionals to ensure comprehensive support.
