Job Description: As a Skills Instructor , you will be responsible for picking up and driving up to 3 adults with developmental disabilities on a daily basis and providing the participants with guidance regarding community integration, social recreation/leisure skills, shopping in natural environments, money management, personal health and hygiene, use of community resources, community safety, fun community activities and how to utilize public transportation. Driving is a key part of this role to ensure clients can: Participate in community activities, events, and recreational outings. Access educational or vocational programs. A valid CA driver’s license, a clean driving record, and reliable transportation are required to safely and effectively support special needs clients in achieving their goals.
Villa' s Community Integration Program (CIP) is a community-based day program designed to meet the needs of adults living with intellectual/developmental disabilities who have a strong desire to work and would like to continue building their employment related skills through supervised volunteer opportunities, as well as independent living skills training.
Compensation : $20.00/hour
Schedule : Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM (35 hours/week)

Requirements:
High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
Experience assisting special needs individuals; 1 year.
Valid CA Driver’s License (preferred) and 3 years of verifiable driving history. *A valid CA driver’s license, a clean driving record, and reliable transportation are preferred to safely and effectively support special needs clients in achieving their goals. This position requires driving participants with special needs to: Community activities, events, and recreational outings. Educational or vocational programs.
Willing to work in the Thousand Oaks, Camarillo and Simi Valley area.
Satisfactorily complete a DOT drug test screening.
Satisfactorily pass a background fingerprinting clearance from DOJ/FBI Community Care Licensing/Dept. of Social Services
Satisfactorily complete a physical & TB screenings.
