Job summary

Boyne Mountain Resort's Boyne Country Sports seeks an experienced Boot Fitter to join our retail team. This role blends craftsmanship with sales, requiring hands-on boot fitting, deep product knowledge, and the ability to guide guests through fitting and buying with credibility.

You will work on a busy floor, stay current on models and techniques, upsell boots and accessories, and help ensure guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

Prior professional boot fitting experience required.
Technical knowledge of boot construction, sizing, flex and fit principles.
Strong sales ability to close retail sales.
Professional demeanor, communication skills, and attention to detail.
Ability to stand, kneel, and work with customers' feet for extended periods.
Weekend/holiday/peak season availability.
Basic math skills for register/POS transactions.

Responsibilities

Greet customers and assess fit using professional boot fitting techniques.
Apply shell fitting, footbed/insole fitting, punch/stretch adjustments, and alignment considerations.
Diagnose and resolve complex fit issues with professional judgment.
Drive sales by upselling boots, footbeds, socks, and related accessories.
Maintain and operate boot fitting tools and equipment to industry standards.
Educate customers on boot care and break-in expectations to reduce returns.
Process transactions accurately and keep fitting area clean and organized.
Stay current on boot models and fitting techniques and share with customers.
Meet or exceed individual and store sales goals.
