Job summary

Southern Illinois Healthcare (SIH) is seeking qualified registered nurses to provide professional nursing care across SIH units through our internal portal. The role requires nursing licensure in Illinois, current CPR/BLS, ACLS within 6 months of hire, and various unit-specific credentials.

Qualifications

• Assess patients to determine mental, physical, and spiritual needs.
• Establish a compassionate environment to provide emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patient and families.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate an individual plan of care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary health care team.
• Provide health teaching and counseling to promote health.
• Demonstrate clinical judgement with critical thinking to respond to changes in patient condition.
• Complete accurate and timely documentation in the patient chart.
• Contribute to policy/procedure development for patient safety and quality.
• Supervise and delegate to licensed practical nurses and unlicensed staff.
• Advocate for patients through collaboration with health professionals.
• Complete required education, competencies, and licensure timely.
• Float to other SIH nursing units within competency level.

Responsibilities

• Supervision and delegation responsibilities of licensed practical nurse and/or unlicensed assistant personnel
• Serve as an advocate for the patient by communicating and collaborating with other health service professionals
• Timely completion of required education, competencies, and licensure
• Float to other SIH nursing units within competency level
