Job summary

Southern Illinois Healthcare is seeking an experienced registered nurse to provide professional nursing care across SIH patient populations in multiple units, including ICU, stepdown, and mother-baby services.

You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care, educate patients and families, document accurately, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team. The role requires current IL RN license, CPR/BLS, ACLS/PALS per hire timelines, and willingness to float to units as needed.

Qualifications

• Current Illinois Registered Nurse license
• Current CPR/BLS Card
• Current ACLS card (within 6 months of hire)
• Current ACLS & PALS card (within 6 months of hire)

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care for SIH patients.
• Assess patients to determine mental, physical, and spiritual needs.
• Establish a compassionate environment to provide emotional, psychological, and spiritual support.
• Assess, plan, implements, and evaluates an individual plan of care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary health care team.
• Provide health teaching and counseling to promote, attain, and maintain the optimum health level of patients.
• Demonstrate ability to use clinical judgement in conjunction with critical thinking to recognize, act upon, and report changes in patient condition.
• Complete, accurate and timely documentation in patient medical record.
• Provide input into the development of policies and procedures to support patient safety and quality of care.
• Supervision and delegation responsibilities of licensed practical nurse and/or unlicensed assistant personnel.
• Float to other SIH nursing units within competency level.
