Job summary

Southern Illinois Healthcare seeks a registered nurse to provide professional nursing care for SIH patients across units. The role requires an Illinois RN license, CPR/BLS, and ACLS within 6 months, with additional certifications as required by unit.

Eligible candidates graduate with an associate, diploma, bachelor’s, or master’s degree in nursing and are prepared to work in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Associate, Diploma, Bachelor’s degree or Master’s in Nursing.
• Current Illinois Registered Nurse license.
• Current CPR/BLS Card.
• ACLS within 6 months of hire; TNCC/TNS within 1 year; ECRN within 24 months; NRP/PALS as required.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients to determine mental, physical, and spiritual needs.
• Establish a compassionate environment and provide emotional support to patients and families.
• Plan, implement, and evaluate an individualized plan of care with the care team.
• Provide health teaching and counseling to promote health and prevent illness.
• Document accurately in the patient medical record and adhere to safety policies.
• Supervise and delegate tasks to licensed practical nurses and unlicensed staff.
• Float to other SIH nursing units within competency.”
