Excel Care at Norwood is seeking a reliable Maintenance Assistant to support daily operations of our skilled nursing facility located at 100 Mc Clellan St, Norwood, NJ 07648. The role focuses on keeping the environment safe, clean, and well functioning for residents, staff and visitors.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, dependable, and capable of performing general maintenance such as plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and room setups.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a skilled nursing facility or long term care.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform hands-on tasks.
• Safety focused and detail oriented work habits.

Responsibilities

• Assist with general maintenance: plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry.
• Complete repairs and preventive maintenance on equipment and building systems.
• Respond to work orders and maintenance requests from staff.
• Help maintain clean and safe common areas, resident rooms, and outdoor spaces.
• Support seasonal tasks like snow removal and landscaping.
• Monitor supplies and tools, and report any hazards or needed repairs.
• Help with room setups, furniture moves, and facility inspections.
• Always follow safety and infection control protocols.
