Excel Care at Wilmington is seeking a reliable Maintenance Assistant to support daily operations of our skilled nursing facility in Wilmington, Delaware. You will help maintain a safe, clean, and well functioning environment for residents, staff, and visitors.

This hands-on role requires experience in plumbing, electrical, HVAC and carpentry, with the ability to respond to work orders, perform preventive maintenance, and assist with room setups and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic maintenance knowledge of tools and building systems.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform hands-on tasks.
• Safety-focused and detail-oriented work habits.

Responsibilities

• Assist with general maintenance: plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry.
• Complete repairs and preventive maintenance on equipment and building systems.
• Respond to work orders and maintenance requests from staff.
• Help maintain clean and safe common areas, resident rooms, and outdoor spaces.
• Support seasonal tasks like snow removal and landscaping.
• Monitor supplies and tools, and report hazards or needed repairs.
• Assist with room setups, furniture moves, and facility inspections.
• Follow safety and infection control protocols.
