Job summary

The State of Connecticut Military Department in Orange, CT is seeking a Skilled Maintainer for full-time daytime hours (7:00 AM–3:00 PM). The role involves grounds care, equipment operation, and basic maintenance tasks across multiple trades.

A working supervisor may lead a crew, with emphasis on safety and reliability. Minimum qualifications include two years of related experience or a vocational substitution; strong hands-on skills and ability to follow instructions are essential.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of experience in one of the skilled trades or landscape maintenance, or operation of motor trucks or large buses.
• Substitution of a vocational/technical school diploma for general experience is allowed.

Responsibilities

• Keeps records and prepares reports related to duties.
• Performs related duties as required.
• Operates and maintains grounds equipment.
• Directs a crew as a working supervisor in grounds care and maintenance.
