Position Title: Maintenance Mechanic Wage: $30.00-$38.00/hour DOE Hours: 11:00am-7:00pm Monday-Friday This position is ideal for a hands-on maintenance professional with strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills who is comfortable working with CNC equipment, hydraulics, pneumatics, motor controls, PLCs, and machine control systems. You will work closely with production to minimize downtime and keep equipment operating safely and efficiently.
This is a direct hire opportunity in Sturtevant, Wisconsin.
Maintenance Mechanic Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair CNC machines and manufacturing equipment
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance to reduce equipment downtime
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic problems
- Troubleshoot CNC controls, including FANUC, Siemens, or similar systems
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, blueprints, and technical manuals
- Troubleshoot electrical circuits, motors, controls, sensors, switches, and related components
- Read and modify PLC logic as needed for machine troubleshooting
- Replace worn or damaged components, including bearings, belts, linear guides, ball screws, motors, and other machine components
- Perform machine calibration, alignment, and adjustments to maintain accuracy
- Troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including pumps, valves, cylinders, and related components
- Utilize diagnostic equipment and machine interfaces to identify equipment faults
- Work with outside technical support and equipment manufacturers when necessary
- Assist with maintenance and repair of facility and miscellaneous production equipment
- Document repairs, preventative maintenance, replacement parts, and machine downtime
- Partner with production employees to identify equipment problems and minimize interruptions
- Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
- Ensure repaired equipment and machine safety features are functioning properly before releasing equipment back to production
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized maintenance work area
Maintenance Mechanic Requirements
- Previous industrial maintenance or CNC machine maintenance experience
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills
- Working knowledge of electrical systems, motor controls, hydraulics, and pneumatics
- CNC machine troubleshooting experience strongly preferred
- Experience with FANUC, Siemens, or similar CNC controls
- Ability to read electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings
- PLC troubleshooting experience; ability to read and modify PLC logic preferred
- Experience using diagnostic tools and technical manuals
- Strong problem-solving and root-cause troubleshooting skills
- Comfortable working independently and prioritizing equipment repairs
- Basic computer skills
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and LOTO procedures
- Ability to regularly stand, walk, reach, bend, kneel, crouch, and occasionally climb
- Ability to regularly lift up to 10 pounds, frequently lift up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
- Comfortable working around moving machinery, electrical equipment, vibration, and typical manufacturing conditions
