Job summary

Monroechamber is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic in Schofield, WI to troubleshoot and repair production equipment across mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems. You’ll diagnose PLC programs and perform scheduled maintenance during machine service.

The role requires an Associate’s degree or equivalent experience (2–3 years) with a Journeyman preference, and hands-on welding, pipefitting, and building upkeep duties.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in a technical field and 2–3 years of experience in industrial maintenance.
• Journeyman Mechanic apprenticeship strongly preferred.
• Proven knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Knowledge of electro-mechanical systems, servo controls, VFDs, and PLC diagnosis.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical, and machine drive systems.
• Troubleshoot PLC programs and perform repairs during production times.
• Perform welding, basic machining, and safe maintenance tasks.
• Maintain building and grounds as needed and prioritize work orders.
• Install machines per manufacturer specs and assist in PM programs.
• Read manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance.

Position Title

Maintenance Mechanic

Compensation

Wage: $22.00 - $45.00/hour

Shift & Schedule

12 Hour Weekend Days: 5:00am - 5:00pm (Friday - Sunday)

Location

Schofield, WI

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical systems, advanced pneumatics, advanced hydraulics, electrical, and machine drive systems
• Troubleshoot PLC programs
• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production times and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service
• Perform welding activities using arc, mig, and tig welding, and plasma cutting, and oxy-acetylene torch techniques to ensure proper and safe penetration
• Perform simple machining duties and responsibilities
• Perform building maintenance duties including but not limited to grounds keeping, snow removal, and building upkeep
• Prioritize daily work orders/assignments while balancing daily breakdowns
• Install machines properly according to manufacturer’s specifications
• Execute pipefitting
• Assist in the organization and implementation of the preventative maintenance program
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance service
• Operate hand and power tools including, but not limited to air tools, welders, and measuring equipment

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in a technical field and/or strong knowledge of industrial maintenance normally acquired through two (2) to three (3) years of experience in a similar position required
• State indentured apprenticeship as a Journeyman Mechanic strongly preferred
• Proven knowledge of basic electrical, hydraulics, and pneumatics
• Basic knowledge in electro-mechanical, servo controls, VFD and PLC diagnosis
