Job summary
Lansing Board of Water & Light is seeking a skilled Journeyman Line Worker to perform overhead and URD distribution tasks on our system in Lansing, MI. The role requires hands-on experience with high voltage conductors, protective gear, and safety protocols.
You will operate multiple pieces of equipment, climb poles, and perform routine maintenance and upgrades. Applicants should have a valid apprenticeship completion or equivalent, at least two years of journey line experience, and a CDL as
Qualifications
- Must be a Journey Line Worker as indicated by completion of apprenticeship program or equivalent.
- Must have experience working primary voltages with rubber gloves and sleeves.
- Must have 2+ years Journey line experience; certificate of journey lineman status preferred.
Responsibilities
- Operate overhead and URD distribution lines and equipment.
- Climb and work from wooden/steel poles and platforms with safety gear.
- Handle trucks, trailers, buckets, lifting and hand tools for maintenance/upgrades.
- Follow safety manuals and wear required PPE; participate in safety trainings.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.
- Maintain good operating condition of equipment and report issues promptly.
